The U.S. Department of State and Daugavpils City Education Department would like to invite you to a unique Latgale English Language and CLIL Teachers’ Mini-Conference “ENGLISH 365: English as a Continuous Learning Journey” which is held on 24th May 2025, Saturday, in Daugavpils State Gymnasium (Cietokšņa Street 33, Daugavpils).

The Mini-Conference keynote speakers are Steven Schuit, Tamrika Khvtisiashvili and Angela May Dadak who are experienced American educators currently teaching at universities in Latvia and Lithuania.
You will be able to receive new ideas and techniques for your work, and have the chance to communicate with native speakers. This event has already been held in Tartu, Estonia, for Estonian English language
teachers on 26th April and received great feedback from the teachers in attendance. It will also take place in Riga on 16th May.

There are going to be 3 workshops, each workshop will be offered twice, and every participant will be able to attend 2 of them. You will receive certificates of attendance (4 academic hours). The program for the event is in the attachment. So, please, choose 2 workshops according to your preference during the registration for the event. The registration deadline is 19th May.

On Saturdays, the school canteen is not open. There is only one coffee vending machine at the gymnasium, so our advice is to take coffee, tea or water with you, as the breaks are only 10-minutes.
