Daugavpils Universitātē 2024. gada 3. oktobrī plkst. 14.00 notiks publiska lekcija angļu valodā “Daugavpils in Global Context: How a Struggling City Can Thrive in a Changing World”.
Lekciju vadīs Alans Malaks (Alan Mallach, ASV) – starptautiski atzīts urbānists un grāmatu “The Divided City: Poverty and Prosperity in Urban America”, “Smaller Cities in a Shrinking World: Learning to Thrive Without Growth” u. c. autors.
Alan Mallach, a senior fellow with the Center for Community Progress in Washington DC, has worked at the Brookings Institution and the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, taught at Rutgers University, the Pratt Institute, and elsewhere, lectured widely in the United States, Europe and Asia, and served as director of housing & economic development for the city of Trenton, New Jersey. He is a Fellow of the American Institute of Certified Planners, an accomplished pianist and author of two well-received books on 19th century Italian opera. He holds a B.A. degree from Yale College and has lived for the past forty years in Roosevelt, a small village in New Jersey.
