| The summary of the project: |
| The aim of the project is to improve the quality of study programmes at Daugavpils University, ensure better university management and enhance the competence and skills of management staff. It is important for Daugavpils University to ensure the quality of education that meets the needs of Latvia’s economy and society, improve the management of DU in accordance with international quality standards, to strengthen strategic specialisation, to promote the effective implementation of study programmes and study directions based on competences and that are centred on the student, as well as to promote cooperation with employers. In order to promote the fulfilment of the above-mentioned needs and the resolution of the problem, the project will develop a detailed Change Management and Implementation Plan for the modernization of study programmes, improve the management structure of DU, introduce an internal quality management system, implement e-solutions, and improve the competencies of management personnel. |
| Planned results of the project: |
| – A study quality monitoring strategy has been developed –Change Management and Implementation Plan for the modernization of study programmes has been implemented – Cooperation with industry associations has been improved (8 cooperation agreements) – Plan that includes solutions for improving the quality of internships is developed – International conference on innovation in the content of study programmes is organized – Procedure for forecasting human resource development in the industry and maintaining links with DU graduates is developed – International peer review of DU study programme modernization is carried out – DU financial management and accounting system is improved – Internal quality management system is improved – E-solutions are implemented – Mutual teaching activities with leading foreign universities for the exchange of knowledge, experience and specialised knowledge – Training cycle to improve the competence of DU management staff is implemented |
