Daugavpils University (LV DAUGAVP01) is pleased to invite students and staff from partner institutions to participate in our upcoming Blended Intensive Programme: “Multidisciplinary Teamwork in Senior Healthcare”.

Virtual component: 09.04.2026
Physical mobility period: 13.04.2026 – 17.04.2026
ECTS Credits: 3 ECTS
Target group: 0915 Physiotherapy and 0913 Nursing and midwifery

The aim of the BIP: To promote effective multidisciplinary team collaboration in senior healthcare to ensure comprehensive, coordinated, and patient-centered care, thereby improving the health status, functional abilities, and quality of life of seniors, while reducing risks of hospitalization and care-related complications.

Objectives:

  1. To analyze the care needs of seniors and the significance of a multidisciplinary approach in healthcare.
  2. To develop collaboration skills among students and specialists within a multidisciplinary team.
  3. To foster interdisciplinary and intercultural exchange of experience in senior care.
  4. To develop examples of senior-centered care solutions.
  5. To improve participants’ professional, communication, and digital skills.
  6. To strengthen sustainable international cooperation in healthcare education and practice.

Methods: Lectures, group work, site visits to healthcare institutions, discussions, masterclasses, and training in clinical environments.

Intended results: By employing the aforementioned methods, all healthcare specialists will gain insight into the specific roles and responsibilities of each member within a multidisciplinary team, and new professional skills will be acquired.
