Daugavpils University invites its community to participate in a Blended Intensive Programme “Integrating Innovation and Cultural Traditions”!

In today’s multicultural learning environment, educational institutions must take into account the diversity of learners, both in terms of cultural background, socio-economic status and different learning needs, so that all learners feel valued and encouraged to engage in a quality learning process. This program will provide project participants with practical tools and strategies for creating an inclusive learning environment.
BIP objective:
To promote participants’ understanding about the diversity and inclusion of learners, by respecting their diversity in terms of culture, language, abilities, as well as socio-economic status and learning needs.
The BIP taksts:
- practically engage participants in diverse physical activities in accordance with an inclusive educational environment;
- to help participants identify prejudices and systemic barriers in the school environment;
- to offer participants inclusive teaching strategies, differentiation approaches in the classroom that support diversity;
- to promote constant self-reflection regarding diversity and inclusion;
- to gain experience and become aware of the importance and positive impact of various activities that promote an inclusive environment on the health, emotional well-being, and social interaction of learners;
- to assess participants’ understanding of cross-curricular integration within several learning areas and their application in professional activities.
Teaching methods: lectures, seminar, discussion, work in groups, study tour, workshop.
The intended results:
- participants will learn examples of good practice by observing innovative practices implemented in the city of Daugavpils;
- they twill observe how activities can be organized in a quality inclusive educational environment, using personalized content and tools that support learning;
- they will participate in physical activities, thus developing their intercultural and health competences and abilities;
- during the meeting, attention will be paid to getting to know the innovative environment by visiting educational, cultural institutions, and private workshops where diagnostics and training of children with different needs are carried out using various teaching methods and techniques;
- program participants will have the opportunity to explore the theoretical and philosophical framework of inclusive pedagogy, a differentiated approach, and a culturally sensitive approach to organizing the learning process;
- the program involves participants in modeling an inclusive learning environment.
