During studies you will obtain
study courses aimed to help understanding the theory of art, aspects of Western and Latvian art history, fundamentals of phenomenology of art, psychology of art and philosophy of art, copyright, entrepreneurship, civil defence and environmental protection;
study courses providing knowledge in the rules of composition, colouristic, principles of advertising and publishing, theory of perspective and shadow construction for artists, techniques of graphics, history of design and style, latest information technologies and computer programmes for designers, web page development, packing graphic design, trends and current events of contemporary design, aspects of tectonics and plastic anatomy, typographics;
study courses aimed to educate in accordance with the chosen specialization in product design: in textile art – to obtain batik and textile printing, techniques of textile fibres and felting, knitting and sewing technologies, in ceramics – to obtain the technologies of ceramic materials and painting, techniques of traditional ceramics and forming of plastic materials.
You will get an opportunity to develop and improve your knowledge in drawing, painting, formation, photo art, technical graphics, three-dimensional graphics, modelling and infographics.
During studies you will have an opportunity to obtain free choice study courses: project development and management, ergonomics, labour rights.
Having successfully graduated the programme you will be able
to continue studies in master’s study programmes at Daugavpils University
(“Art”, “Education” – obtaining one of the qualifications “Teacher of visual art”, “Teacher of visual art and technical graphics”, “Teacher of culturology”, “Community and establishment organization”, “Intercultural relations”) or at any other university in Latvia and abroad.
