Acta Biologica Universitatis Daugavpiliensis has two issues per year. Journal is issued in paper format, but all articles are available electronically in open access. All papers of Acta Biologica Universitatis Daugavpiliensis are published in English.

Aim and Scope

Acta Biologica Universitatis Daugavpiliensis is an International peer reviewed scientific journal that welcomes original research papers, short communications or reviews on biodiversity and conservation biology with a priority studies on Eastern Europe, which are interesting to the International scientific community readership. Especially welcome work from PhD students and young researchers.

We aim to contribute to the biology field by sharing new theoretical and empirical studies in fundamental and applied science.

The manuscripts should not be published, submitted or under review in any other form of publication, except in the form of conference abstracts.

Acta Biologica Universitatis Daugavpiliensis ownership and management belongs to Institute of Life Sciences and Technology, Daugavpils University.

EDITORIAL POLICIES:

Peer Review Process

All submissions are peer reviewed by at least two invited reviewers which are experts in a field, but are not part of the Acta Biologica Universitatis Daugavpiliensis editorial team. 

The first decision about the manuscript is sent to author(s) within two months after the initial manuscript submission. Editor-in-chief is giving the final decision of each manuscript after taking into account the recommendations and argumentation of associate editors as one of the following options: accept, minor revision, major revision, reject with resubmission, reject).

Publication Ethics and Publication Malpractice Statement

Retraction

Editors of Acta Biologica Universitatis Daugavpiliensis will consider retracting the publication due to: 1) unreliable (major errors, result falsification) published research, 2) plagiarism, 3) previously published results without citation, 4) data without authorization to publish, 5) copyright violation, 6) unethical research, 7) falsified peer review procedure, 8) conflict of interest. Publication retraction process should follow Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) retraction guidelines (https://publicationethics.org/retraction-guidelines).
