- Apply for a monthly scholarship — submit the application within five (5) working days from the start of the study semester.
- Sign an employment contract in accordance with Regulation No. 714, “Regulations on Doctoral Student Employment, Conclusion and Termination of Employment Contracts, and Remuneration Calculation Procedure.”
- Apply to the DU Research Project Competition (announced each year at the beginning of January); the maximum funding per project is EUR 3,000.
- Apply for the ERDF project “Daugavpils University Doctoral Grants in Smart Specialisation Fields” No. 1.1.1.8/1/24/I/004 (more information: here).
- Gain international experience through Erasmus+ — for both study and intership mobility (more information: here).
- Apply for funding from the Else Maria Čermaka Fund by 1 October each year (more information: here).
- Take courses at partner universities via the OpenEU project, either online or on site.
- Participate online in Doctoral School sessions (more information: here).
- Use the databases of the DU Library and the National Library of Latvia (more information: here).
- Use Room 215 at Parādes Street 1 for study and discussion purposes during your free time; keys are available in Room 204 (Parādes Street 1) or in the key cabinet.
- Access DU research infrastructure for your studies and projects.
- Receive DU financial support for preparing publications indexed in Scopus and/or Web of Science, provided that a DU staff member is a co-author.
- Develop science communication skills by participating in DU-organized events.
