Overall goal of the project: to take measures to ensure the protection of the hermit beetle Osmoderma eremita (syn. barnabita), by creating a cross-border ecological network connecting the populations of this species in Lithuania and Latvia – by creating and managing “green corridors” or species distribution routes, planning and implementing the necessary management measures both within the specially protected nature areas of the Natura 2000 network and outside them (e.g. in avenues, parks), as well as providing the necessary research and preparation of justification for the improvement of the Natura 2000 network.

Project budget
LIFE Osmo Baltic is implemented with the financial support from the European Union LIFE Environment Programme and the State Regional Development Agency. The total budget of the project is EUR 11,005,398.49, of which 75% is EU funding.
DU budget for the project: EUR 1,073,978, of which EUR 805,484 is EU funding and EUR 193,316 is national co-financing.
