On May 18-19, 2023 the Department of Russian and Slavonic Studies of Daugavpils University (Latvija) will host the International scientific conference XXVI Slavic readings.

Conference co-organizers: Institute of Slavic Studies, University of Wroclaw (Poland), Department of Russian Studies, Faculty of Arts and Philosophy, University of Ss. Cyril and Methodius (Slovakia).

The conference  XXVI Slavic readings includes presentations with scientific reports on the topical problems in Slavic studies aiming to discuss the trends of the development of the Slavic language, literature and culture in the modern world.

The work of the conference groups is planned to be organized in the following directions:

  • Slavic languages: history and modernity
  • Folklore and traditional culture of the Slavs
  • Slavic – Baltic language, literary and cultural relations
  • Literature of the Slavic peoples in the context of world literature
  • Innovative methods in teaching Russian as a foreign language
  • Friedrich Gorenstein’s literary heritage and dramaturgy

 XXVI Slavic Readings will be held both in person (in Daugavpils University) and as a virtual event using ZOOM platform.

Conference working languages: Latvian, Polish, Slovak, Russian, English

Participation fees – 40 EUR (for participants in the online format), 60 EUR (for participants in person) should be paid by transfer to the DU account until 10.05.2023.

Deadline for submissions is April 15, 2023.

Conference papers are published in the research paper collection “Slavic Readings”. The Scientific committee selects reports for presentation and publication depending on the scientific attractiveness of the proposed topic and its compliance with the objectives of the conference.
