Within the Erasmus+ BioSustainED project the “Practical teaching guide: methodological guidelines for biodiversity teaching at school (designed for grades 10-12 in Latvia and Lithuania)” was developed and shared among teachers in Latvia and Lithuania. This guide provides teachers of different school subjects with teaching materials for conducting practical exercises in biodiversity exploration and understanding in classes and in nature. It supports both in knowledge and value creation by raising interest in biodiversity and forming responsible behaviour towards nature. Additionally, the project team developed a Training programme “Holistic approach for biodiversity teaching in general secondary education in Latvia or gymnasium in Lithuania (grades 10-12)” for teachers. It is a 45 h long programme for capacity building of teachers and will be implemented in Latvia and Lithuania.
Project team is sincere grateful to all teachers, experts, policy makers and everyone who contributed to development of the guide and the training programme – by provision feedback, participation in project events, engagement in lively discussions and nice informal talks.
