At the end of May (2024) the researchers of the IHSS  History Centre, teachers and students, as well as representatives of the NGO DIVRUNA, visited several places of Augšdaugava area: Laucesa, Kalkūne, Medumi, Svente, and Šedere, to record the memories of local inhabitants.

In the result of the expedition there were recorded 58 interviews with 61 life-stories which will be included in the collection of the Oral History Centre. The total recording time is more than 76 hours, the longest interview is about four hours.

We are very greatful for the support of local authorities as well as for “Sēlija Cultural Program” of the Latvian State Culture Capital Foundation and the program for NGO support of Augšdaugava novads.
