From April 20 to 22, 2026, a partner meeting of the Nordplus Higher Education Programme-funded international project “Traditions and Innovations in Baltic and Nordic Mathematics Education” (project No. NPHE-2025/10040) was held. The meeting was organised by the project’s leading partner, Daugavpils University, and involved representatives from Riga Technical University (Latvia), Åland University of Applied Sciences (Åland Islands, Finland), and TTK University of Applied Sciences (Estonia).
During the meeting, participants reviewed the progress achieved to date, discussed the piloting and further development of the teaching materials, and planned the next stages of the project. Particular attention was given to evaluating the quality of mathematics teaching resources, developing feedback tools for students and lecturers, and ensuring the alignment of materials with contemporary study needs, including digital learning environments and labour market requirements. The participants also discussed the organisation of seminars for higher education lecturers and the dissemination of project results at the international level.
In addition, work progressed on a scientific article that will present the outcomes of the project. Discussions also addressed the final phase of the project and explored opportunities to involve external experts in the evaluation of the developed materials. As part of the programme, participants observed mathematics lectures and engaged in individual consultations.

The project aims to strengthen cooperation between higher education institutions in the Baltic and Nordic regions, promote innovation in mathematics education, and develop teaching approaches that respond to the needs of contemporary students. Participation in the project provides academic staff with opportunities to gain international experience, enhance teaching and learning practices, and strengthen collaboration with partner institutions.
