The international online conference “Reconnect with Earth – WEEC Virtual International Conference 2026”, organised by the World Environmental Education Congress (WEEC) Network, will take place from 17 to 20 November 2026.
The WEEC Network, in which the UNESCO Chair at Daugavpils University has been actively involved since 2002, promotes international cooperation and the exchange of knowledge and experience among researchers, educators, practitioners, non-governmental organisations, and other stakeholders working in the fields of environmental and sustainability education.
As part of this year’s conference programme, the Journal of Teacher Education for Sustainability (JTES), published by the UNESCO Chair, will host a dedicated panel session. The session will bring together researchers, educators, and practitioners to exchange perspectives on teacher education, sustainability, evolutionary ecological perspectives, and transformative approaches to learning.
“Reconnect with Earth 2026” will also bring together editors and representatives of scientific journals in environmental and sustainability education. This will provide participants with opportunities to explore relevant publication venues, learn about current and emerging research priorities, and establish new international academic and professional connections.
The Editorial Board of JTES warmly invites Daugavpils University researchers, academic staff, doctoral students, students, and cooperation partners to join the international WEEC community and participate in “Reconnect with Earth 2026” conference.
