On 6 January 2022 on @ZinātneLatvijai Facebook page a live event – opening ceremony of the calendar “Latvian scientists 2022” and exhibition #researchLatvia took place. The calendar “Latvian scientists” (and on-line portraits) and the exhibition #researchLatvia are a recent initiative of the Ministry of Education and Science to spotlight excellent personalities of Latvian scientists and promote strengths and diversity of the Latvian research community. They tell stories about 12 outstanding Latvian scientists, their research interests and achievements who have contributed to the development of a smart, technologically advanced and innovative society in Latvia. In an informal setting with the calendar’s personalities video stories were released and research highlights were discussed.
