On 23 March 2026, Maseno University (Kenya) welcomed representatives of Daugavpils University, who met with the university’s management during their visit to discuss further opportunities for cooperation in the fields of academia and research. During the meeting, both institutions emphasized their shared interest in strengthening international cooperation by promoting innovation, knowledge exchange, and practical learning opportunities for students and academic staff.

Particular attention was given to potential collaboration with the Department of Music at Maseno University. Discussions explored the idea of establishing a Modern Music Laboratory that would provide students with hands-on experience in areas such as music production, sound recording and processing, digital composition, instrumental training, and audio-visual performance analysis. It is expected that such infrastructure will expand students’ professional development opportunities and ensure alignment of the study process with international standards.

The visit took place at a time when Maseno University is developing modern infrastructure, including the construction of a new, state-of-the-art laboratory complex that will foster interdisciplinary collaboration and innovative research.

The discussions also addressed possibilities for providing access to specialized research equipment, which would significantly strengthen the research capacity of both institutions and enhance the quality of studies.

The visit of Daugavpils University representatives to Maseno University marks an important step toward the development of long-term cooperation, demonstrating the commitment of both institutions to academic excellence, innovation, and international engagement.
