On March 25, 2026, an international meeting titled ”EPO PATLIB Baltic and Nordic Countries Meeting” was held at the premises of the Patent Office of Latvia in Riga. The event brought together representatives of PATLIB centres from the Baltic and Nordic countries to discuss current development trends, service offerings, and cooperation opportunities in the field of intellectual property.

Daugavpils University was represented by Dr. Sanita Kecko, Director of the Institute of Life Sciences and Technology and Head of the Research and Business Centre ”REBUS”. During the meeting, the newly established Daugavpils University PATLIB Centre, operating under the framework of REBUS, was presented. The presentation provided an overview of the centre’s establishment, its main areas of activity, and its integration into the European Patent Office’s PATLIB network.
The event provided up-to-date information on the operational models and services of PATLIB centres, as well as identified opportunities to expand cooperation with other European PATLIB centres. Potential directions for the development and improvement of the Daugavpils University PATLIB Centre’s services were also outlined.
