The Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences and the Faculty of Social Sciences of Daugavpils University (Latvia) announce 17^th edition of the Annual International Academic Conference “Social Sciences for Regional Development 2022”.

The conference aims:

• to promote contribution of social sciences to regional development,
• to popularize interdisciplinary approach to research of urgent issues on regional development
• to stimulate transfer of knowledge into practice.

The Conference welcomes to share experience in terms of economic aspects of regional competitiveness and sustainability, topicalities of state and law in European and national practice and urgent issues on sociology, social psychology and management. Suggestions for contributions include but are not limited to:

• High differentiation of socio-economic development among regions: quality of life, well-being, socio-economic stratification;
• Personality and labour migration: regional aspects of ethno-psychology and psychology of personality;
• The role and importance of governance in processes of allocation and redistribution of financial resources for increasing the competitiveness of the region: legal aspects;
• Innovative potential of human capital: aspects of economics, law, sociology and social psychology in the process of increasing the regional competitiveness;
• The role and importance of the regional branding in ensuring the competitiveness of the region: economic, legal, sociological, and psychological assessment;
• Spatial planning and its impact on ways of increasing regional competitiveness: economic and legal aspects.
• Effective management of innovative processes in context of regional competitiveness

Scientists, students, policy-makers and practitioners can benefit through attending the conference owing to the:

• Interdisciplinary platform for discussion on the issues of the regional development within such disciplines as Regional and financial economics, Civil rights and Criminal rights, Sociology and Social psychology, Management
• International environment and opportunity to exchange experience in three languages (Latvian, English, Russian)
• Opportunity to publish the research results in the annual pre-reviewed conference proceedings

Please, submit short abstract (about 300 words, text only).

REGISTRATION FORM

Conference languages: Latvian, English, Russian

Presentation: 15 minutes for presentation, 10 minutes for discussions

Please note that conference format will depend on epidemiological situation.

• DEADLINE FOR PAYING CONFERENCE FEE – till 01.10.2022.

Participation fee is 70,00 EUR.

25,00 EUR academic personal and doctoral students of Daugavpils University

10,00 EUR for master students of Daugavpils University

Participation fee includes conference materials, peer-review of submitted articles, coffee breaks and dinner, excursion and soiree.
Participation fee does not include accommodation.

50,00 EUR for persons, who submit article without presentation at the conference.
