You are invited to submit your abstracts for the VIII International Academic Conference “Human: Language, Society, Culture”, a virtual one-day conference organised by the Society “Kultūras Artefakts” in cooperation with the Daugavpils University Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences (Latvia), which will take place on 9 June, 2025.
The conference focuses on cultural and historical memory and identity, values and beliefs, customs and rituals, lifestyles, and their representations in language, literature and culture. We are interested in conference proposals that align with conference requirements and effectively communicate research findings by applying comparative research methodology.

Accepted papers will be published in the “Journal of Comparative Studies”, which aims to promote a broad conception of cultural studies in the Humanities and Social Sciences. The journal publishes original research articles dealing with issues of regional, national, transnational, international, and global significance applying comparative research methodology on diverse aspects of culture (cultural memory and identity, values and beliefs, customs and rituals, lifestyles and their social impact within social groups etc.) and their facets in literature, language, and society. By involving scholars from academic communities all around the world the journal offers a platform for a scientific polylogue and international collaboration. You can choose to participate in the Virtual category without submitting your paper to the journal. Regarding the journal publication, there will be an additional review process.
