From September 14 to 15, 2026, the researchers of the State Research Programme project “Navigating the Latvian History of the 20th–21st Century: Social Morphogenesis, Legacy and Challenges” (project No VPP-IZM-Vesture-2023/1-0003) Irēna Saleniece, Haralds Bruņinieks, Maija Grizāne, and Laima Grišule participated in the 15th Vilnius-Daugavpils-Riga symposium on late Soviet and postsoviet issues “Agents, processes, and identities in the context of rapid social and political change in the second half of the 20th century”. The Symposium was organised by Lithuanian Institute of History, UL FH Institute of Latvian History, and Daugavpils University.

I. Saleniece and H. Bruņinieks presented the paper “The real life and public image of former national partisans of Sēlija region in the 1960s–1980s”, in their turn, M. Grizāne and L. Grišule reported on the topic “Soviet teachers as agents of forced secularization in Eastern Latvia, 1960s-1980s”.
