From 28 to 30 September 2026, the International Conference on Economics, Finance & Business was held in Istanbul, Turkey. The conference was organised by the International Institute of Social and Economic Sciences in cooperation with the University of Finance and Administration and brought together researchers, business professionals and representatives of public institutions from different countries.
Professor Dzintra Iliško and Associate Professor and Leading Researcher Alīna Romanovska from the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences at Daugavpils University presented the study “Arts-Based Education in Latvia – Measuring Economic Value”. The study was conducted within the European Union’s Horizon Europe project “Cultural Literacies’ Value in Europe” (CLiViE, Grant Agreement No. 101132285).
The presentation explored approaches to assessing the social and economic value generated by arts-based education, with particular attention to the Latvian experience and the evaluation methods applied within the CLiViE project. The presentation attracted considerable interest from conference participants and was followed by questions and discussion concerning the assessment of arts-based education outcomes, approaches to determining their economic value, and the potential application of such methods in education and culture. The exchange of views with international researchers also provided an opportunity to discuss methodological solutions and the wider application of the study’s findings. Participation in the conference contributed to the international visibility of the CLiViE project results, Daugavpils University’s research activities and Latvia’s experience, while also supporting the development of new professional contacts.
