The anthem of Daugavpils University was created in 1995 at the suggestion of Bruno Jansons, the then Rector of the University. The lyrics were written by poet Imants Auziņš, and the music was composed by composer Raimonds Igolnieks.
The anthem of Daugavpils University is performed at the celebratory events of Daugavpils University: on 1 September, at the events dedicated to the founding of the University (4 November) and the anniversary of the University’s Constitution (15 March), at graduations, etc.

The coat of arms of Daugavpils University was created in 2011 to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the university. On the basis of the Decision No 3.1-4/1 of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Latvia of 10 January 2012, the coat of arms of Daugavpils University is registered in the Register of Coats of Arms of the Republic of Latvia.

Heraldic description of the coat of arms of Daugavpils University: a golden lily in a blue field, with an open book underneath; a red shamrock divided by silver. The motto in blue on a golden ribbon: SCIENTIA VINCES (translated from latin: With science you win!).
The coat of arms was designed by heraldist Mg. hist. Artjoms Mahļins.
