The Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences of Daugavpils University (Latvia) announces 20^th edition of the Annual International Academic Conference “Social Sciences for Regional Development 2025”.

The conference will be held in a hybrid format (in-person and online).

The conference aims:

• to promote contribution of social sciences to regional development;
• to popularize interdisciplinary approach for research of urgent issues on regional development;
• to stimulate transfer of knowledge into practice.

The Conference welcomes to share experience in terms economic aspects of regional competitiveness and sustainability, topicalities of state and law in European and national practice and urgent issues on sociology, social psychology and management. Suggestions for contributions include but are not limited to:

• High differentiation of socio-economic development among regions: bioregions, quality of life, well-being, socio-economic stratification, modeling of economic processes, economic security;
• Personality, labour market, labour migration: quality of life and economic efficiency of employees, forms of remote work, regional aspects of ethno-psychology and psychology of personality;
• The role and importance of governance in processes of allocation and redistribution of financial resources for increasing the competitiveness of the region: legal aspects;
• Innovative potential of human capital: aspects of economics, law, sociology and social psychology in the process of increasing the regional competitiveness;
• The importance of the latest technologies in the socio-economic processes: artificial intelligence, digital currencies; financial literacy;
• The role and importance of the regional branding in ensuring the competitiveness of the region: economic, legal, sociological, and psychological assessment;
• Spatial planning and its impact on ways of increasing regional competitiveness: economic and legal aspects;
• Effective management of innovative processes in context of regional competitiveness.
• The newest issues for regional development: sustainable economics, public and individual security, psychosocial resilience.

Scientists, students, policy-makers and practitioners can benefit through attending the conference owing to the:

• Interdisciplinary platform for discussion on the issues of the regional development within such disciplines as Regional and financial economics, Civil rights and Criminal rights, Sociology and Social psychology, Management;
• Opportunity to publish the research results in the annual pre-reviewed conference proceedings.
