The title of Honorary Member of Daugavpils University may be awarded to distinguished Latvian or foreign scientists, political or public figures who are not employed at DU as their primary workplace and who have achieved outstanding accomplishments in science, the arts, or public service at the national or international level. Candidates must have contributed to the international visibility of DU and made a significant impact on its development—either in the improvement of the study process or in scientific research.
The elected Honorary Member is awarded a DU Honorary Member diploma, approved by the Senate of Daugavpils University.
The title of Honorary Doctor of DU is awarded for life.
