Daugavpils University is organising the 67th International Scientific Conference of Daugavpils University in order to emphasize the present-day importance of higher education and the growing role of scientific and innovative solutions, as well as to promote the cooperation between higher educational institutions in Latvia, EU member states and other countries. The conference will be organized on April 10-11, 2025.

A special session titled “Dynamics of Marine Ecosystems and Their Controlling Factors” will commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Latvian Institute of Aquatic Ecology, an Agency of Daugavpils University. The session will feature research presentations on marine coastal habitats, invasive species in the Baltic Sea, and cyanobacteria ecology in the Gulf of Riga. Additionally, it will address challenges related to polluting substances in marine environments and the evaluation of various biological effects. Discussions will also cover marine and coastal lake food webs, along with innovative applications of marine resources and distribution of microplastics in sandy beaches.

The Conference languages: Latvian and English (Russian, German, Spanish, French, Polish, Lithuanian, Swedish – in the corresponding linguistic work groups of the humanities).

Registration and abstract submission for the conference until 10.03.2025.

The results of scientific investigations presented during the conference will be published in Proceedings of the International Scientific Conference of Daugavpils University. Proceedings of the International Scientific Conference of Daugavpils University will be published in three parts: part A. Natural sciences; part B. Social Sciences; part C. Humanities and Arts.

Registration fee (for each registration):

Standard registration fee: 75 EUR

Registration fee for Daugavpils University employees, Latvian Institute of Aquatic Ecology employees, Daugavpils University students of Bachelor’s, Master’s study programmes doctoral students: 50 EUR

Registration fee for listeners (without paper), if certificate is necessary: 10 EUR

Evening party event for 1 person: 30 EUR (fee for the evening party event is not included in the participation fee).

The participation fee includes reviewing and publication of abstracts and proceedings, preparation of conference materials.
