Daugavpils University Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences centre of oral history and cultural heritage researchers union “DIVRUNA” project “Oral History Expedition in Krāslava Region” (project manager Mg. hist. Agnese Timofejeva) received financial support from the State Culture Capital Foundation (Latgale Culture Program 2025) and the Krāslava District Municipality. The expedition will take place from June 16 to 20 this year. Its goal is to promote awareness of the uniqueness and diversity of Latgale’s cultural and historical heritage, which will allow researchers to refine their conclusions about Latgale’s regional identity and the value of its places. The life stories of the people of Krāslava will be recorded in cooperation with the Krāslava Local History Museum. Visiting the storytellers will be a great opportunity for historians from Daugavpils University to improve their practical skills in the field of oral history. Meanwhile, anyone interested is invited to participate in the seminars that will be held at the Krāslava Local History Museum as part of the expedition and to expand their knowledge. Another positive outcome will be the strengthening of cooperation between Daugavpils University history students and researchers with the Krāslava district museums, libraries, local historians, and local communities.
