Daugavpils University representatives, Jans Kevišs and Vadims Kolbjonoks, took part in the 5th CERN Baltic Conference and the 16th CERN Baltic Group General Meeting, what took place in Kaunas on October 14-16, 2025.
The conference focused on opportunities for participation in projects and research conducted at CERN, the European Union’s largest intergovernmental scientific organization.

The event also featured presentations by scientists from Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia, showcasing research carried out in collaboration with CERN. Topics included particle therapy – an advanced cancer treatment method using radiation therapy – as well as theoretical and experimental particle physics, with experiments conducted in CERN accelerators.

We were also delighted to support Jānis Šņikers, a Daugavpils University doctoral student who is currently representing the University of Gothenburg.
