The meeting with Ilva Aršauska, President of the Latvian Nurses Association, and representatives of the Board of the Latvian Nurses Association – member of the board Ilva Krastiņa and member of the board Agita Melbārde-Kelmere – was held at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Healthcare of Daugavpils University.

On February 21, 2025, a meeting was held at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Health Care of Daugavpils University with Ilva Aršauska, President of the Latvian Nurses Association, and representatives of the Board of the Latvian Nurses Association – board members Iveta Krastiņa-Paegle and Agita Melbārde-Kelmeri. During the meeting, representatives of the Latvian Nurses Association met not only with DU representatives, but also with students of the professional bachelor’s study programme “Nursing” and nurses from the Latgale region.

During the meeting, participants were introduced to the reform and professional development of the nursing profession, continuing education opportunities, and the role of the Latvian Nurses Association as an advocate for the interests of the nursing profession. Agita Melbārde-Kelmere emphasized the need for networking and cooperation in the nursing profession. Daugavpils University was represented by Inese Kokina, Vice Rector for Studies, Natālija Degtjarjova, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Healthcare, Director of the programme “Nursing,” Liene Lukjaņenko, Acting Head of the Department of Healthcare, Evita Grāvele and other lecturers. During the meeting, opportunities for cooperation in the improvement of the professional bachelor’s study programme “Nursing,” the development of science and research, as well as opportunities for joint projects were discussed.
