At the beginning of the spring semester new international students arrived at Daugavpils University and became part of our DU student family. On February 11, 2025, a ceremonial reception of EU Erasmus+ international students took place in the concert hall of Daugavpils University. The students were greeted by DU Vice-Rector for Studies, Prof. Inese Kokina, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Mārīte Kravale-Pauliņa, and Student Council Chair Annija Rozentāle.  Velta Trūle, the Project Manager for International Students’ Recruitment from the International and Public Relations Department introduced the students to Latvia and Daugavpils, while also offering an overview of the history of Daugavpils University and its current fields of study and research. Lecturer Gļebs Beļajevs gave a musical performance. The choreographer of the Student Dance Ensemble “LAIMA” Marita Irbe helped students get used to the rhythms of Latvian folk dances.
