On February 24 English philology students of Daugavpils University had the unique opportunity to attend a guest lecture by Jeremy Taylor. Jeremy, a lecturer and writer from Bristol, United Kingdom, shared his knowledge and experience in an engaging lecture on English language stylistics, vocabulary, and grammar. He actively involved first-year and third-year full-time and exchange students in various activities and exercises.
During the lecture, students gained a deeper understanding of linguistic aspects of the English language, British cultural elements and literature. They actively participated in discussions, asked questions, and developed valuable international perspectives while improving their communication skills. The lecture was not only educational but also inspiring, providing new insights and motivation for further studies and research.
The university expresses its gratitude to acting Head of the Department of Languages and Literature at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, leading researcher Ilze Kačāne, and associate professor Dr. philol. Sandra Meškova for their involvement and efforts in facilitating international collaboration.
Thank you to everyone who participated!
