On March 30^th, 2023 Matthew Pye has delivered a lecture in Daugavpils University on environmental issues and global warming.

Matthew Pye is a public speaker who discuss about fundamental issues whilst indulging the most thought provoking examples. He has an experience in teaching and Philosophy that enables him to bring some powerful truths to the surface. He discussed about his book “Plato Tackles Climate Change” that brings fresh depth to climate thinking. In dialogue with Plato, and in consultation with the latest climate science data and analysis, this book underlines the importance of courage in climate thinking and acting. In lively and informative prose, Matthew Pye draws innovative connections between Plato’s philosophy and climate change, echoing recent calls by the climate movement to ‘tell the truth’. Generously punctuated by entertaining anecdotal details, Plato Tackles Climate Change offers an interdisciplinary account which combines the latest climate science with an original philosophical explanation of the climate crisis.

Matthew Pye has founded the Climate Academy and help young people keep informed, safe by providing creative space to respond to the crisis.
