On 30 and 31 May 2024 the Centre for Management and Social Sciences of “RTU Liepāja” organized the 27th International Scientific Conference “Society and Culture: Social Memory and the Present”.
Asoc. prof. Henrihs Soms presented the paper “Twists and turns of Latvian life in Upper Daugava: Grivas for the Latvian Association – 100”.
Three doctoral students of the programme “History and Archaeology” presented their papers, too.
Juris Jefuni observed the study “The issue of autocephaly of the Latvian Orthodox Church in the 1920-1930 in its symbolic perspective”. This study was conducted within the DU project “The Representation of Living Memory: Cultural-Historical and Literary Aspect” (Nr. 14-95/2024/9).
Iveta Krilova presented the paper “Marginal women in the mirror of humour and satire journal of Soviet Latvia “Dadzis” (1959)” and Agnese Timofejeva spoke on “History of Latvian forestry (1918—1940): memoirs of foresters as historical source”.
