Daugavpils University Publishing house „Saule” was founded on May 1991. On October 2006 its name was changed to Daugavpils University Academic Press „Saule”.
The main task of Daugavpils University Academic Press „Saule” is to design books, get books ready for the press and publish different printed matterials for DU (books, brochures, periodicals etc.). AP „Saule” publishes scientific articles, programmes and abstracts of scientific conferences of DU, text-books, monographs etc., written or edited by academic staff of DU. About 45 books and brochures are published each year. Students’ journal „Lai Top!”, summaries of the thesis for obtaining the doctoral degree and other necessary publications for DU are also published by AP „Saule”.
In 2011 AP „Saule” celebrated its 20th anniversary.
