On April 9–10, 2026, the 68th International Scientific Conference of Daugavpils University brought together over 200 researchers from across the globe, creating a vibrant space for knowledge exchange and new ideas.
As part of the session “Educational Sciences, Psychology, and Sports,” researchers Ludmila Aleksejeva, Dzintra Iliško, and Alīna Romanovska presented insights from the Horizon Europe project “The Value of Cultural Literacy in Europe” (CLiViE). Their presentation, “Arts-Based Learning as a Pathway to Creativity and Inclusion in Informal Makerspaces,” highlighted innovative approaches to learning beyond traditional classroom settings.
The presentation captured strong interest from the audience and sparked engaging discussions on the growing importance of arts-based learning in today’s educational landscape. The researchers emphasized how such approaches can foster inclusive environments, nurture creativity, strengthen a sense of belonging, and develop essential skills for the 21st century.
By showcasing its interim results, the CLiViE project demonstrated the transformative potential of arts-based learning as a powerful tool for promoting creativity, collaboration, and inclusion in diverse learning environments.
