The EU Horizon Europe research and innovation programme project PULSE-ART – Promoting Understanding and Lifelong learning Successful Education through the ARTs and culture, grant agreement No. 101178988, has established a stakeholder hub – MOSAIC HUB. On December 8, 2025, the second MOSAIC HUB Latvia co-creation workshop “Cultural awareness, education and art as a means of promoting social understanding, inclusion and creativity” was held at Daugavpils University. The aim of the workshop, which took place online, was to involve stakeholders in the development of a self-reflection tool, assessing its structure, the quality of question wording and the suitability of the assessment scale. The self-reflection tool is intended for assessing the development of cultural awareness and expression competence for a wide range of users: teachers, cultural workers and representatives of state institutions and NGOs. The self-reflection tool emphasizes the importance of cultural awareness and artistic expression in promoting social inclusion and creativity.
The workshop was attended by experts in the fields of art, culture and education, as well as representatives from various institutions from several Latvian municipalities. The participants of the event shared their experience of using similar tools in various fields of education and culture, emphasizing the need for useful, research-based tools in learning processes and intercultural communication, and also expressed their opinion on the work done in the PULSE-ART project by developing a self-reflection tool. During the seminar, discussions took place on the structure of the self-reflection tool, the quality of the question wording and the assessment scale used. The participants’ comments and suggestions were collected in order to improve the quality of the self-reflection tool together with the project partners.
