On December 5, 2025, a dissemination event of the EU Horizon Europe research and innovation programme project PULSE-ART – Promoting Understanding and Lifelong learning Successful Education through the ARTs and culture, grant agreement No. 101178988, was held at Daugavpils University, which was attended by representatives of the education sector from Daugavpils, Līvāni, Viļāni and Ludza.
The aim of the event was to introduce educators and cultural specialists with the project’s goals, progress and results, as well as to create a professional dialogue on the importance of cultural awareness and expression competence in education. During the meeting, participants discussed the challenges and opportunities that educational institutions face when integrating cultural and artistic experiences into the learning process.
The PULSE-ART project focuses on the competence of cultural awareness and expression, which allows persons to get to know and understand themselves, their belonging to the nation, state and community, to be aware of their place in society, as well as to appreciate cultural diversity and engage in the creative process in various art forms: visual art, music, theatre, dance, etc. Cultural awareness and expression is one of the eight lifelong learning competences defined by the European Commission, which includes a respectful attitude towards cultural diversity, a desire to explore the world, to be open to new experiences and to actively engage in cultural and creative processes.
By focusing on how arts and culture contribute to lifelong learning, social inclusion and intercultural dialogue, the project implements seven case studies in six European countries and Morocco. One of the most important expected results of the project is the PULSE-ART Observatory – a freely accessible platform for promoting international networking and cooperation in the field of cultural awareness and expression.
The team of the PULSE-ART project expresses its gratitude to all participants of the event for their active involvement, responsiveness, and interest in the project activities.
PULSE-ART project implementation period: November 1, 2024 – October 31, 2027.
