On October 9-10, 2025, the students of History studies participated in the 12th Baltic student conference “BRIDGES IN THE BALTICS 2025”, which was held in Rīga and brought together young scholars from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Poland, Czechia, Denmark, Germany, and USA.
The 2nd year student of academic bachelor study programme Lāsma Aiga Lasmane devoted her speech to the problems of preserving cultural heritage in Sēlija region in the paper “Preserving Selonian Cultural Heritage: The Case of Liepavots Outside Stage and its Surroundings (1936-1965)” (scientific supervisor PhD, assist. prof., researcher. M. Grizāne).
The 2nd year student of academic master study programme Viktors Punculis presented the paper “Development of the Daugavpils Tram Line (1945-1963)” (scientific supervisor Dr. hist., asoc. prof. H. Soms) and Vladislavs Matvejevs delivered the presentation “Religion, Identity, and Parliamentary Democracy: The Case of Latvia (1920–1934)” (scientific supervisor Dr. Theol., prof. A. Stašulāne).
In her turn, the 2nd year PhD student Jūlija Tereščenko shared her research “Unknown Deportation Routes: Jewish Transports between Latvia and Lithuania during the Holocaust” (scientific supervisor Dr. hist., doc. I. Runce).
Vladislavs Matvejevs took part in the conference within the framework of the DU research project “Starpdisciplinaritāte un dažādība mūsdienu pētniecībā humanitārajās zinātnēs I” (No. 14-95/2025/15).
