Support for meeting the requirements set for EQAR agency

Daugavpils University has signed a cooperation agreement with the Academic Information Center on cooperation in the implementation of the ESF project “Support for meeting the requirements set for EQAR agency.”

The aim of the project is to provide support for meeting the requiements set for the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education (EQAR) agency, including improving the quality of the Agency activities and strengthening its capacity.

After the implementation of the project, the Latvian Higher Education Quality Assurance System will function in accordance with the requirements of the European Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance (ESG), and the agency will be a member of EQAR, which will increase the credibility of Latvian higher education and the diplomas obtained.

A high-quality higher education evaluation system will ensure competitive education in the European higher education area in the long term.

Main activities of the project:

• Development of the accreditation agency’s strategy and improvement of the quality management system;
• Implementation of pilot accreditation in 12 higher education institutions;
• External expertise of the Accreditation Agency;
• Development of the e-platform for the accreditation process and monitoring of higher education quality;
• Training and seminars on external and internal quality assurance issues;
• Participation in European associations and other international organizations in the field of higher education quality assurance.
