Daugavpils University is implementing the project in the framework of the programme “Growth and Employment” priority “Education, Skills and Lifelong Learning” specific support objective 8.1.1. “Increase the number of modernized STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) , including medicine and creative industries”
„Modernization of STEM, healthcare and arts study programmes at Daugavpils University”, agreement No. 8.1.1.0/17/I/005.
The aim of the project is to increase the number of modernized STEM, healthcare, and arts study programmes at Daugavpils University. The project is aimed to developing the material, technical, and informational base of study programmes by purchasing equipment, laboratory materials, inventory, and instruments, as well as supplementing library collections and developing information technology equipment in order to offer high-quality, internationally competitive education that meets international standards.
Planned activities include the purchase of equipment for STEM study programmes in “IT, Computer Engineering and Computer Science,” “Environmental Protection,” “Chemistry, Chemical Technology and Biotechnology”, “Physics, Materials Science, Mathematics and Statistics,” “Life Sciences”, as well as the modernization of study programmes in the fields of “Healthcare” and “Art”.
Expected results: service delivery capacity in the supported higher education infrastructure in the year of project completion – 1,020 persons.
Project implementation period: 01.12.2017. – 31.12.2020.
Total funding of the project: EUR 1 425 138,00, including European Regional Development Fund fundinga (85%) – EUR 1 211 367,30 and state budget funding (15%) – EUR 213 770,70.
