On November 4–8, 2024, the project , Education Model Through Language Integrated School Subjects, 2023-2-HU01-KA220-SCH-000178547, organized by the project partner institution, the University of the Basque Country (Universidad de Pais Vasco/Euskal Herriko Unibersitatea) in Bilbao, Spain. It was attended by foreign language teachers from nine project partner institutions from universities, secondary schools, and primary schools in Latvia, Spain, Hungary, Turkey, Lithuania, Italy, France, and Portugal with the aim of developing prototypes of integrated methodological support materials for foreign language and content learning in the fields of arts and natural sciences.
During the workshop, the project implementers from Daugavpils University – Dr. phil., Professor Maija Burima, Dr. paed., docent Sandra Zariņa, and project expert Oļģerts Rihlickis, developed and presented the project’s methodological guidelines to the project partners, ensuring the transfer of the results of DU’s scientific research in the field of CLIL to international educational practice. The project partners carried out a comparative analysis of the L2 programmes of the educational institutions represented in the project, and a thematic plan for the programmes established in the project was modelled.t
During the visit to the University of the Basque Country, plans for further cooperation in the development of joint programme design within the framework of Erasmus projects in areas related to national language and integration programmes were discussed and outlined. During the visit to the Basque Language and Culture Centre, a discussion took place on the need to learn and preserve national languages in the context of globalization.
At the end of the workshop, the progress of the project implementation was monitored and a plan for the next workshop was developed.
