The “The World Around Us” conference for students from Southeastern Latvia was recently held at the Daugavpils University Study and Research Centre Ilgas. The participating students were specially invited to attend the conference as a recognition of their prior engagement and dedication—earned through their active contributions and observations on the iNaturalist platform. The conference created an inspiring atmosphere where enthusiasm for fieldwork and expeditions was clearly visible—many students shared their experiences with genuine excitement. The event left participants energized and filled with positive emotions.

The conference was organized within the framework of the Environmental Protection Fund project “The World Around Us.” It brought together students from Daugavpils, Krāslava, Ilūkste, and Špoģi.

Sincere thanks to everyone connected with the conference organization, and others for their outstanding work and commitment. Special appreciation is also extended to the dedicated teachers who accompanied the students to Ilgas and contributed to the success of the event.
