Daugavpils University represented at the International Conference in the Philippines!

On April 28, 2025, the Rector of Daugavpils University Dr. Arvīds Barševskis and Senior Researcher Dr. Anita Rukmane-Bārbale will participate in the Joint International Conference on Emerging Technologies (ICETI-3) and the International Conference for Interdisciplinary Science and Environmental Solutions (JCI Davao Ecotone-1), which will be held at the University of Mindanao, Davao, Philippines.

The University of Mindanao is organizing the conference in collaboration with the Center of Green Nanotechnology Innovations for Environmental Solutions (CGNIES), the Institute of Biodiversity and Environment (IBE), and JCI Davao.

It will feature plenary talks from experts in biodiversity, wastewater management, deep-sea research, disaster risk reduction:

This event will serve as a platform for knowledge exchange and collaborative action for a sustainable future.

The conference aligns strongly with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals by fostering actionable discussions and community-based solutions in the following areas:

SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation): Highlighting research on wastewater treatment and water sustainability initiatives.

SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities): Addressing urban resilience and disaster risk reduction through geospatial technologies and community empowerment.

SDG 13 (Climate Action): Encouraging collaborative strategies for mitigating climate change through policy and innovation.

SDG 14 (Life Below Water): Exploring conservation and sustainable use of marine ecosystems via deep-sea research.

SDG 15 (Life on Land): Emphasizing biodiversity protection, ecosystem restoration, and nature-based solutions.
