From October 7 to 11, three representatives from the field of education and pedagogy from Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce, Poland, visited Daugavpils University: Associate Professor Agnieszka Szplit, Associate Professor Zuzanna Zbróg, and Dr. Aldona Kopik. The visit was part of the European Union’s ERASMUS+ Staff Teaching Mobility program, with the aim of gaining experience in language acquisition methods and approaches used in Daugavpils.

During their visit, the Polish educators exchanged experiences with lecturers from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Daugavpils University, as well as with staff from the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences (HSZI), and acquired new knowledge.

On October 9, together with the leading researcher of the DU HSZI Sustainable Education Center, Ph.D. Ilona Fjodorova, they visited the Daugavpils University Institute of Life Sciences and Technology (DZTI), where they were introduced to the institute’s laboratory operations and scientific research. The tour took place in several laboratories:

• Genomics and Biotechnology Laboratory: Laboratory assistant of the Department of Technology, BSc. biol. Aleksandra Mošenoka.
• Parasitology and Histology Laboratory: Director of DZTI, researcher at the Department of Biodiversity, Dr. biol. Inese Gavarāne.
• Laser Technology and Metalworking Laboratories: Electronic equipment engineer at the Department of Technology, Mg. phys. Valdis Mizers.
• Innovative Microscopy Center (clean rooms) and Hologram Exhibition: Valdis Mizers.
• Hydroecology Laboratory: Researcher at the Department of Ecology, Dr. biol. Aija Brakovska.

This visit is part of Daugavpils University’s active international cooperation, which promotes the exchange of experience and strengthens academic relations between educational institutions.
