BIP will be held in Daugavpils, Latvia from May 13 till 17 May, 2024.
Climate change and environmental degradation are an existential threat to the EU and the world. To tackle these challenges, the European Union has endorsed a new European growth strategy – a European Green Deal – that will transform Europe into a modern, resource-efficient and competitive economy. The European Green Deal aims to make Europe climate-neutral by 2050, boost the economy through green technologies, create sustainable industry and transport, reduce pollution and prevent biodiversity loss.
The educational aspect is crucial to encourage society to take decisive action to mitigate climate change and conserve biodiversity. Education and training must respond to the challenges and realities of the 21st century and meet the needs of learners and help them cope with the stress and anxiety of a planet in crisis. In order to acquare the competences needed to build a more sustainable economy and society, Blended Intensive Programme includes various topics related to the green transformation.
The content of the programme will provide students with necessary knowledge and skills about green transformation, promote an understanding of sustainability, and will facilitate the decision-making processes needed to implement and participate in long term structural change.
